We inherited the textile waste crisis. We deserve to be at the center of the solution. We work with textile science partners that develop recycled materials from textile waste, and we are working to build a textile recycling operation in Accra.

The Revival Circularity Lab

We have a dedicated space for textile recycling and an industrial shredding machine. We are experimenting with small scale recycled products but ultimately need more industrial machines and a larger workforce to recycle at scale.

RevivalTex Brick: A Sustainable Innovation in Circular Construction

As part of our research phase The Revival Circularity Lab partnered with local plastic recyclers in Accra to create the RevivalTex Brick. This is an eco-friendly composite brick engineered from a blend of recycled textile fibers, shredded plastic waste, and binding agents, creating a durable, lightweight, and thermally efficient alternative to conventional bricks.

The brick is composed of:

  • 80% Recycled Textile Waste (cotton, polyester, and blended fibers)

  • 15% Recycled Thermoplastics (primarily HDPE and PET sourced from local recyclers)

  • 5% Binder & Additives (resins and stabilizers to enhance structural integrity)

The production process involves mechanical shredding, compression molding, and heat treatment to achieve optimal density and strength. The result is a high-performance composite that resists moisture absorption and degradation, making it ideal for construction in tropical climates.
